City within the City / "Trnitá City Block"
Žvak, Ondřej ; Květ, Radko (referee) ; Nový, Vítězslav (advisor)
The thesis deals with a design of a new construction of a polyfunctional urban house. It concerns a corner plot near the busy Opuštená avenue. The building is supposed to supplement the intended housing estate. Designed to be suitable for domestic, administrative and commercial use while maintaining an effective budget, the property is to provide the residents as well as the location with a high-quality space.
Geodynamical Map of Moravian and surrounding.
Rajnoha, Milan ; prof. Švábenský (referee) ; Pospíšil, Lubomil (advisor)
Result of this graduation theses is Geodynamic map of Moravia in scale 1:500 000. There were used available data from GPS measurements, seismic, geomorphologic and other data to construct map. Map is worked in GIS software. On the backround of researched data, there are determinated some locations, which are characterized by recent tectonic activity. These are analyzed for more detail.
GPS measurements at the Tetčice polygon
Darmopilová, Jana ; Švábenský, Otakar (referee) ; Pospíšil, Lubomil (advisor)
This thesis deals with periodical measurements at the Tetčice polygon to confirm geological activity caused by geological shift that pass through the center of the village. This work was focused on the third phase of measurement by long static GNSS observation in summer 2013 to monitor horizontal shifts on both edges of Boskovice furrow. Points are stabilized on pillars with forced centring. Part of the thesis is summary of present results, the differences between the various stages and graphical representations of shifts. The theoretical part deals with the geological conditions in the area and description of GNSS technology.
Generating Procedural Planets
Fusek, Petr ; Polášek, Tomáš (referee) ; Starka, Tomáš (advisor)
This bachelor's thesis deals with the design and implementation of an easily extensible library for creating generators of procedural planet surfaces. The aim of the library is to enable the use of originally two-dimensional methods of procedural map generation to generate a contextually rich planet surface. The library emphasizes the extensibility and simplicity of working with the generated surface. It allows the user to create and parameterize their own generators and use their own algorithms in them. It also includes an implemented planetary elevation map generator that uses a simplified model of simulating tectonic plate collisions to generate a surface with a topology containing mountains, bays and archipelagos. Such a surface should show visual results closer to reality than the classical approach using procedural noises allows. The library is implemented together with a visualization application presenting the generated surfaces and allowing to set all possible inputs of the generator using the GUI.
Tectonic and metamorphic evolution of the Tokar-Barka Terrain (East-African Orogeny)
Hořenínová, Marie ; Verner, Kryštof (advisor) ; Peřestý, Vít (referee)
in English This bachelor's thesis summarizes the tectonic and metamorphic evolution of the Tokar-Barka Unit in the southern part of the Arabian-Nubian Shield. The compilation includes an information of regional division, lithological pattern, age, deformation structures and record of metamorphic evolution, mainly in the context of East African orogenic processes. The main episodes of geodynamic evolution are briefly discussed in a regional context. Key words: East-African Orogeny, Arabian-Nubian Shield, Tokar-Barka Unit, Deformation, Tectonics, Metamorphic evolution
Verification of the "Čirá - Kopanina" fault existence using morphostructural analysis and geophysical surveying
Findžová, Leona ; Tábořík, Petr (advisor) ; Kašing, Martin (referee)
This thesis focuses on the verification of the Čirá-Kopanina fault existence using morphostructural analysis and geophysical surveying. The verification of the fault zone was based on the analyses of the digital relief model, river network parameters and selected relief features that indicate tectonic activity with a high probability. Based on these analyses, the fault was identified and subsequently verified using geophysical methods. The searched tectonic line passes through the village of Čirá in the Jindřichovice upland district (Krušné hory Mts), continues east of the village of Kopanina and heads south into the Cheb Basin along the Libocký Brook. The direction of the Čirá-Kopanina fault was determined as approximately north-south (348ř - 168ř) and thus corresponds to the north-south orientation of the hypocentres of the West Bohemian earthquake swarms. The Čirá-Kopanina fault zone could thus be a potential source area for the earthquake swarms at the boundary of the Cheb Basin and the Krušné hory Mts. crystalline complex. However, its activity needs to be verified by a further research. Keywords fault, tectonics, digital elevation model, morphostructural analysis, geophysical surveying, Jindřichovice uplands, Krušné hory Mountains
Optimization of hydrogeological wells situation in crystalline complex
Kvíz, Jan ; Hrkal, Zbyněk (advisor) ; Eckhardt, Pavel (referee)
The main aim of the thesis is to verify optimal situation of hydrogeological wells in hard rock aquifers. The boreholes are investigated in the following three hydrogeological regions in the Czech Republic: Krystalinikum Jizerských hor v povodí Lužické Nisy, Krystalinikum Krkonoš a Jizerských hor v povodí Jizery a Podkrkonošský permokarbon. Using contemporary methods and a larger number of data, this work verifies the conclusions of historical regional studies. Statistical analysis of the yields of archival wells was used as a testing tool, taking into account their position in relation to altitude, morphology and landcover etc.
Structural tectonic and morphometric characteristics of the Upper Otava river basin
Burkytová, Šárka ; Hartvich, Filip (advisor) ; Stemberk, Jakub (referee)
The thesis deals with the structural-geomorphological characteristics and morphometric analysis of the Upper Otava River basin, located in the Šumava Mountains. The introductory part is focused on the literature search, in which the area of interest is evaluated in terms of physical-geographical characteristics. The review also deals with an overview of methods of structural geomorphological research with a focus on morphostructural analysis of relief. The structural-geomorphological characterization was established by means of a joint analysis of selected sites where the direction of the joint surfaces and their slope were measured. A morpholineament analysis and fault tectonics analysis were also done to define the morphostructures. The individual morphostructures were evaluated using morphometric analysis methods and compared using morphostructure synthesis in terms of their similarities or differences. Finally, the geomorphological evolution in the area of interest was outlined. Keywords Morphostructural analysis, structural measurements, Šumava mountains, morphometry, morpholineaments
Reconstruction of the geological evolution of the Southern Main Ethiopian Rift
Dvořák, Štěpán ; Verner, Kryštof (advisor) ; Tomek, Filip (referee)
The Main Ethiopian Rift represents a unique insight into process of continental rifting and its comprehensive research can provide partial clarification of open questions such are the causes, mechanisms, and timing of overall tectonic and magmatic evolution. The Main Ethiopian Rift is an intermediary between the Afar triple junction to the north and Kenyan Rift to the south, representing incipient plate boundary between Nubian and Somalian plates. Based on comprehensive geological research of the northern flank of the Southern Main Ethiopian Rift including field geological and structural mapping, petrological and geochemical description of individual lithologies, morphotectonic analysis of Digital Elevation Model, paleostress analysis and gravity pattern assessment including calculation of Linsser indices, some aspects in geodynamic evolution of northern flank of the Southern Main Ethiopian Rift is interpreted. The area recorded typical continental rift-related tectonic and magmatic evolution including "pre-rift" (Eocene to Oligocene) volcanic activity initiated by extensive flood (plateau) alkaline basalt to trachybasalt basalt eruptions due to crustal thinning and mantle plume(s) ascent, followed by fault-dominated "early-rift" (Miocene) bimodal volcanism associated with origin of the rift...
